MATERIALS AND NEED TO KNOW-

The direct warping method is used for this project.

If you are a new weaver or are unsure when it comes to warping, I recommend my Beginner’s Rigid Heddle Weaving Class.

Woe to Go – Beginner’s Rigid Heddle Weaving Class

What you need:

*Rigid heddle loom 10” weaving width or wider
 *1 x 7.5 or 8 dent heddle

*Reed and threading hook

  • *  Sewing machine
  • *  Serger is handy but not a necessity
  • *  Tape measure, pins, sewing thread, needle & thread
  • *  Notebook measuring 5” x 7”
  • *  Commercial lining fabric (I used a lightweight cotton in black), approx 15 x 14” per notebook panel

Yarn:

Total Warp Length: Around 60” (2 notebook covers) Amount: Around 115 yards of light worsted/dk wool or cotton.

Weft: Various amounts of stash/ leftover yarn of any fibre and weight (though I’d recommend not to go over aran weight to avoid too much bulk).

Note:

* You will need to fully warp the width of your Sampleit loom (if using).

* Weave each panel approx. 17.5” long. The finished panels, off the loom should measure around 16 x 8”. Seam allowances are included in measurements.
