Totally new to weaving? Have a loom but don’t have the confidence to get going? This course is for you!

Gain the confidence and skills you need to weave a beautiful scarf with me. I provide step by step video instructions (over 2 hours of content), PDF printables and even motivational pep talks to help you weave successfully!
This course is limited to a small number of students so I can provide all the attention you need over the 4 weeks.
To begin this course, you will need a rigid heddle loom and the accessories that came with your loom. The project is designed so that it can be woven on a small loom (Sampleit). You will need 4 stick shuttles, a warping peg with clamps, a 7.5 dent heddle/reed and a reed and threading hook.

Following enrolment, you will receive an email with further instructions along with an invitation to join the Boot Camp Focus group. This is an essential focus group (not a Facebook group) where I will be checking in frequently to see how you’re going, answer questions and view photos of your progress. I will be available to contact via this group or email. You can also ask questions or leave comments under any video.
Once enrolled, you can begin at any time, but the main “focus group” and personalised support from me will run for 4 weeks. Following completion of the course, the videos and all content will remain open permanently for your viewing.
THE NEXT ENROLMENT OPENING IS FEBRUARY 1, 2025!
This is the only time Boot Camp will be running in 2025.
Cost of Weaving Boot Camp is $50USD.
If you are a member of The Online Weaving School, you have free access to Boot Camp and don’t need to enrol separately.
Here are some comments from past participants:
“This class is incredible! My weaving skill set went from nothing to a great level of confidence and ability. As we progressed through the lessons I clearly understood and mastered the materials presented. I look forward to many years of weaving! Thank you, Kelly!”
Cheri
“So thankful that I was able to complete this at my pace and that access to the videos is “forever”. I found the videos and Kelly’s instructions to be very clear and helpful. Especially the tips for keeping selvedges neat. Thank you! I look forward to taking more classes in the future.”
Roberta
“This class was perfect for me. I did my first complete rigid heddle project and enjoyed it immensely. Thank you Kelly for your clear teaching style, good pace, and with the repetition I need as an older learner”
Charla

“Loved this course. I had already taken an in person course but really needed the opportunity to take it slow and be able to rewind on the videos. The comment section was helpful as well both asking for assistance myself and hearing that the concerns of others were also concerns I experienced. Thank you so much.“
Judith
“Loved the course and now I’m going to learn pick up sticks properly, and double heddle (there’s a blanket itching to come out). After that? Overshot and anything else I can learn!“
Lori
“This class is just what I needed! I like the fact that I can see everything your hands are doing and that you show your work from different angles.“
Mary Beth
“You are a remarkable teacher, Kelly. Your attitude is so wonderfully positive and gently but firmly encouraging and your techniques and explanations are so clear. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.“
Cynthia
“Thank you for a great course which gave me confidence as a very novice weaver to try something new! “
Lisa
“This class was the best one I’ve taken — I’m going through my stash to see what I can use to weave this scarf. Thank you so very much.“

ENROLMENTS FOR BOOT CAMP 2025 ARE OPEN NOW!
Hi Kelly,
I have been a member for a few years and believe it or not I have never taken one of the classes you offer. Crazy, right? I have had my loom for quite a few years but never had the confidence to try. I’m a quilter, but I have always admired weaving, but it’s a whole new language and that scares me a bit. I’m even confused by some of the supplies. I know my Ashford loom came with a peg board, but I’m not sure what type of clamp I need. I’m guessing I can look up the rest of the supplies, but whatever I order will not be here by Feb. 1st, but I’m still thinking of giving it a try. In your description you don’t mention what type of yarn or how much we need. Yarn types are also a new language for me. I find it very confusing. Any advice? Also, since I’m a member I understand the class is included but how do I sign up to be sure to get the videos and access to the focus group. Sorry for so many questions.
Debby, we need to get you weaving!!
I’ll send you an email so we can discuss 😉
I have a Schacht cricket and 25” flip. This past week I have been re-acquainting myself with weaving by warping the cricket and weaving several coasters. My plan is to warp the flip to make your “wash your hands towels”I am wondering if this is a right course for me or is there a more intermediate course you could recommend? Thank you
Hi Constance,
Weaving Boot Camp is really for either absolute beginners or those who may have had their RH for a while but lack confidence and need to be walked through a simple project.
It sounds to me like it might be a little too beginner for the level you’re at? But I don’t know how you’re feeling about your weaving currently – do you feel like you need the extra boost or that you can take on something a little more challenging?
I have a Kromski Rigid heddle loom is that different than an Ashford that you teach on for a beginner?
Each make of rigid heddle loom is slightly different but they all work on the same principles, so any of my rigid heddle classes would be applicable to a Kromski loom as well 😊
