The newest series on my Weaving Lessons Channel is a beautiful table runner that utilises the log cabin technique. This is a colour and weave technique on a rigid heddle loom that looks very complicated but is all about the colour order and arrangement.
The exciting news is that this project is also my first PDF weaving pattern in my Etsy shop! Hopefully it will be the first of many patterns for me.
And if you don’t fancy a table runner, how about a gorgeous scarf?
So many possibilities with a striking pattern and simple loom!

Hi Kelly, I recently bought the log cabin pattern on Etsy and it doesn’t seem to be working out properly. Admittedly I am a bit of a novice but the pattern is for an 18″ wide table runner and if I calculate the total of 9 repeats of block 1 and 8 repeats of block 2, plus 2 borders, it seems to come to 9.3333 inches.
Block 1 and block 2 = 12 dents = 1 inch
Also, on page 3, I think there’s a typo as it says 124 ends, 112 slots (page 1 mentions 224 ends, 112 slots)
Is it just me, am I missing something because it feels like I’m going a bit crazy here and pulling my hair out.
Thanks
Hey Debbie, I’ll shoot you an email to discuss 😉
