What the day brings

A thing of beauty is a joy forever…

by Kelly 1 Comment

And a sleeping babe is a heavenly masterpiece.

Well, they’re pretty cute when awake too!

Remember my Clean Corner Challenge? Before…..

After! Very satisfying.

A big welcome to all new followers and readers, I’m so happy to have you here. I’m gradually making my way around your blogs, bear with me if I haven’t visited you yet, I’ll get there!

My husband, my hero

by Kelly Leave a Comment

He made a delicious prawn laksa for us – on Father’s Day!

New fabric from the clearance table at Spotlight, I’m seeing summer dresses.
By the way, can anyone enlighten me as to why my photo uploads suddenly have an artistic mind of their own? (See strange grey areas at the bottom of pictures)

I’m starting a new challenge for myself to be known as the Clean Corner Challenge. As I have been somewhat distracted by a very small but very loud being, some aspects of our home have started to slide. That’s a diplomatic way of saying it’s a horrible mess and I must do something!
That something has to be small, given my limited time, so I will start with one corner at a time, beginning today. I’ll be back with pics tomorrow.

Whether you have a new baby, a demanding job, illness, or your home is just a mess, join me in making a start, one corner at a time.

p.s. I should have mentioned on the giveaway post, if you are already a follower you are automatically entered.

Etsy treasury

by Kelly 3 Comments

It sure is a long while since one of my dolls was included in an Etsy treasury, but here she is! It’s always exciting to be picked for a treasury. I’m not supposed to be here (see last post!), I can still use the internet but it costs a fortune when you overuse your allowance. I’ll be back on Tuesday with an update and some photos, I promise! I can also catch up with all of your blogs, I’ve been having serious withdrawals!!
I’m working on a bunch of stuff in between the feeds, nappies, schooling, crying (the baby, not me!)
See you next week šŸ™‚

Internet grrr…

by Kelly 1 Comment

Just to let you all know I won’t be around much the next week or so, as our internet allowance has run out for the month!
I’m working on a number of things, (don’t ask me to count them!) so hopefully by my next post I’ll have something interesting for you to look at.
Until then….. thanks for reading!

Gifts

by Kelly 2 Comments

These gifts are all finished and ready to send tomorrow. A cute tote and a tea towel.

Some beaded jewellery and assorted hair clips. I love giving hand made gifts.

Husband has made a solitary journey to Mass this morning as 3 of the 4 children are sick, the baby is not one of them, thank God. There are a lot of sick people around at the moment, mid winter in a cool region.

We had the little one’s baptism yesterday. It was a simple affair (just how we like it!) with only a few people and a very old and wonderful priest.

Have a lovely and relaxing Sunday.

THANK YOU!

by Kelly 1 Comment

I thought I’d just pop in to say a big thanks to all of who have left your kind comments, well wishes and lovely emails over the past few weeks, its been really heart warming.
I hope you can bear with me through this “settling in” period and keep visiting even though there isn’t so much to see right now.
I’m sorely afflicted with the crafter’s/ artist’s (is “craftist” a word?!) bane – my brain is constantly swamped with inspirations but there is no time to bring them to fruition. The ideas haven’t stopped, even if the hands can’t keep up. And I’m about to embark on a graphic design course.
Multi tasking has taken on a new meaning!

God bless you all, have a great day.

On my walls

by Kelly 1 Comment

Are you the sort of person who walks into a house and wants to look at everything? I find it fascinating visiting homes I haven’t been to, maybe I’m just a nosy old stickybeak, but when someone visits me I love it if they want to look around. So, today I’m sharing with you some of the pictures that hang on the walls of our home.

The picture above was an op shop find that is in my bedroom, I practiced ballet from the time I was very young until my teenage years, when I found the discipline of point shoes too hard on my feet.

Our ten year wedding anniversary is in September this year. My, how life has changed since that lovely day, and how our marriage has grown!

This picture was given to me by my mother in law, it has been with her for a long time and is very beautiful.

This one has belonged to my husband for as long as he can remember, its small and cute and lovely.
Today I’m making hospital preparations and am making my first pair of rosary beads. I’ve repaired plenty of broken sets but never made some from scratch, its going well but is quite hard on your hands and fingers (mine are swollen at the moment too, another pregnancy side effect).
Hope you have a wonderful day!

MON!!
I know where to find you, I’ll send you a message.

This afternoon I’ve been embroidering tiny pieces of fabric to cover buttons with. I seem to have a bit of a thing for miniature things, the challenge of using tiny needles and the cuteness of the end product. Only problem is trying to get a decent photo with my camera, even editing only improves the detail a little. I’ll keep trying with that so you can see the little buttons – I love them!

Beautiful day

by Kelly Leave a Comment

Its a glorious Autumn morning here, real “doing” weather.
Husband has taken the older 2 to the city to the Eureka observation deck, I’m taking the little one to my obstetric appointment soon (how many hours can one spend in a waiting room in one lifetime?)
Here is a little peek at what I’ve been working on over the weekend. Love that fabric!
Lastnight husband and I watched “The Wrestler” with Mickey Rourke and were sorely, sorely disappointed. Perverse and extremely miserable, not a pleasant way to spend the evening, so if you haven’t seen it DON’T!
