I have enjoyed your Utube content and the school of weaving. Kelly’s teaching style is just like a conversation with a very thoughtful, knowledgable friend about weaving techniques. She looks at the technique from different angles, which is so helpful to truly understand what is happening. I’ve wanted to learn to weave for a while, but the size and price tags of thr looms I saw intimidated me. The owner of my local yarn store suggested a 15″ rigid heddle loom to accompany their beginner class. Naturally, I couldn’t wait two and a half weeks to get started! I started looking around on line and stumbled across one of your YouTube videos. I’m saving up to join the weaving school, and I really appreciate the free videos you provide in the mean time. Kelly’s Online Weaving School has 100% got me going to be able to weave at all! I am a re-beginning weaver since I started weaving 6 years ago and suffered a serious injury 6 months into my learning. I have been through surgery and rehab and am finally able to use my arm sufficiently to begin weaving. I love having the videos to watch her and over again. Hi Kelly, way back in 2006 during a visit to New Zealand, my husband and I visited the weavers who did the fabric for Narnia and Lord of the Rings. I fell in love then but had no space or money for a floor loom. Forward to 2018 and my husband discovered and bought me a rigid heddle loom for Christmas. I was just getting comfortable with it when the pandemic hit. Your classes helped me learn how to use the loom and in such creative ways. You and your classes helped keep me from feeling disconnected during the last two years.
When I purchased a rigid heddle loom, a first I had ever even seen, I looked up internet to find tips and beyond the basic weave. My searches kept coming back to your YouTube channel. I learned pick-up patterns, double heddle and all sort of things I never encountered with the big floor looms I had ever woven with before.
You have the best videos and content I have come across online in my search of wisdom and help.
Rigid heddle looms are slowly gaining popularity also here in Scandinavia where we have a long and strong history of weaving, but with the big things, and there is barely any content of rigid heddle weaving available online or offline. I’m so thankful there are people like you willing to share the how’s and why’s of the amazing craft of rigid heddle weaving! Thank you!
I just love your videos and lessons Kelly. You have such a great teaching method. I have been weaving on my rigid heddle for quite a few years but, after watching some of your youtube videos, I realized I have only scratched the surface of what can be done with it. I joined your weaving school and watched lessons, including your beginner classes. There were a few things that I learned from the beginner classes that I had either not known about or learned an easier way to do it. My rigid heddle loom had been put away for quite a while but you inspired me to dig it out, buy a stand, and keep it front and center in my living room.
Where some turn to destructive behaviour when the daily pressure becomes too intense, I make time to weave. Doing so gives me a sense that I am measurably making strides forward despite a lifestyle that otherwise seems mired in the daily “going nowhere” grind.
As the woven piece is wound around the front bar of the loom, I can actually SEE progress in something!
Additionally , weaving calms and brings down my anxiety and frustration levels which seem to quickly shoot upward otherwise, as I serve a very difficult spouse.
Weaving and prayerful pondering at the same time has helped me to better understand asoects if Christ-like charity.
I have struggled with the concepts of charitable feelings for someone who has clearly insisted on creating their own misfortune and downfall.
Instead of thinking: “Well! It serves the them right! What did they expect?! “ weaving keeps my fingers busy but frees my mind, bringing fresh insights into whatever issue is troubling me.
Now, sometimes I can feel sorry for the sufferer, even when that individual’s poor choice/s were what caused the disaster in their life. Weaving helps me feel less judgmental and helps alleviate some of the stress brought about by those around me.

Kelley, happy anniversary and congratulations! My husband got me a loom last year, and he did a lot of research before making the purchase. Your YouTube channel and blog really helped him to make the decision about what to purchase and also to know how much I was going to love it. As soon as he gave it to me he recommended that I look you up and learn from you. It was the best advice. So far I have purchased Woe to Go and also downloaded the heart scarf and the wash your hands towels, plus I have watched many of your videos, many many times. You are a great teacher and I also love how you have created a giving, sharing community. It really inspires me to want to learn more about this awesome skill. Kelly, I’m so grateful for accidentally finding you on Utube several years back. What really fascinated me were the table runners with trees, reindeer, and gift boxes. I remember seeing your videos when I was first learning how to use my rigid heddle loom. You’ve taught me so many techniques, including how to use pick up sticks and do doubleweave. I now use both a rigid heddle and a floor loom, and I still use what I’ve learned from you every day! I love weaving, and you’re part of the reason why.

I ran across your blog/Youtube Fall ‘21 when I finally purchased a loom after spending a whole year thinking about it. Dove in headfirst to make scarves as Christmas gifts, to great success. Your channel was very helpful when it came to answering problems for beginners, and it is answering more of my questions as I begin to wade a little deeper into weaving waters. It is only a matter of time before I join the OWS — just waiting to have a block of free time. At this point, just the knowledge that OWS exusts allows me to hope in my future weaving accomplishments. When I first began to search for local resources, I was stymied by both the scarcity of resources for beginners, as well as the pandemic. I have managed to make a connection with a local shop, whose select employees were knowledgeable about the local weaving comminity…they just don’t have a visible online presence. The best part about having you as a weaving resource is that I can look you up whenever I feel the urge to work on a project, not having to add another in-person appointment (or more driving) to the schedule. Thank you so much for deciding to reach out to the worldwide community of weaving, rather than keep yourself local.
Kelly, your lessons have opened up a whole new world to me. I have worked with stained glass and clay for years. Because of a downsizing move, I had to store my glass and pottery equipment. We have no room right now for a studio for me, or much of anything else either. I found myself climbing the walls over the winter (long and very cold here). I figured I could eat everything in sight until spring or find something else to do with my hands. Years ago I used to make simple twined rugs on a frame loom (which I’d given away) so I thought I’d take a look at looms online. One link led to another, then to videos, then to YOU! I jumped in with both feet and ordered a loom. When it arrived I put it together, and then sat and stared at it, for some reason too chicken to warp it. It sat for WEEKS! I finally got back on the internet and began to watch your videos again. After bingeing on them for another couple days, I finally warped my loom and within a couple of days had made a length of simple dish cloths. After that, I decided to buy a smaller loom for sampling. I’ve since made all kinds of textured cloth, and tried all kinds of different patterns and colorways, have worked in beads here and there, and am hankering to try tapestry weaving – all spurred on by your friendly and encouraging lessons! So, thank you for sharing your gift with the rest of us. I have to say, besides the joy of weaving something beautiful, working with yarn is SO much easier on my hands than glass and clay.

I am new to weaving and just enrolled to the weaving school for 6 months. The first class I am taking is the ‚From WOE to GO‘ and I am now in the middle of the first placemat. Dear Kelly, My weaving journey began with your videos. You helped me decide on a rigid heddle loom and then I made my very first project, your free tote bag pattern. Your style of teaching was perfect for me and I found I could watch and rematch the videos until I could really understand. I always felt as if you were sitting right there beside me. Hi Kelly, during lockdown 2 years ago my amazingly kind sister bought me an Ashford knitters loom and a nearby friend showed me how to use it as she has one. I found you after your you tube videos were suggested as a great resource by my friend, and I joined right away.

Talk about be busy for 5 years. I have only been weaving for a year now. My mother-in-law told me all about your exciting very helpfull videos. I guess now is the time to get a membership. So excited to learn some new stuff.
Congrats on 5 years! The online weaving school has helped me become much more confident in my weaving. I still consider myself in the beginner/iintermediate mode, and when I need to figure something out, there is always a video for my questions. And I love having patterns that I can check out, make projects, etc. Kelly’s videos are excellent. I love being able to see it, not just read it. Kelly is calm, understandable, I’ve learned a lot and I intend to keep learning!

5 years! Wow! I found you last fall after the purchase of my first rigid heddle loom. I found a local guild, but they hold meetings and classes during my work day, so there is no way I can attend. I like that I can log on any time I choose., and that the classes are divided into short sections, which makes it so easy to watch a few during my lunch hour or while waiting somewhere. You have such a wide variety of topics, it’s difficult to choose! I appreciate all your effort and time to make your learning platform so versatile. I would t change a thing!

Kelly gave me inspiration to try weaving, I have been a spinner ,knitter and quilter for along time.After having my heart attack in 2020 I felt like a bucket list,so weaving was it. Have only recently found your Online Weaving School as I have been researching what loom to buy so I can get started weaving. Hi Kelly. I’ve been a member of your school for several years now and often go back in to tackle new ideas or to remind myself how to do something. I’ve learned do much from you and your classes. I had always wanted to learn how to weave so when I retired 5 years ago now, I found some videos and purchased a small rigid heddle loom to see if it was as wonderful as I thought it was. I then found your school and took off from there. I’m a pretty solitary person and my weaving has made me feel a part of a group that I truly got with. If that makes sense. Mt husband passed in January and I’ve been a little lost adjusting to being truly alone on property that I’m not sure I can take care of but will try because I’ve been here for 35 years and my husband and I loved it. I’ve also had trouble concentrating and completing tasks. Your school and members of it, and positive energy is helping to bring me back as I’m starting to weave again so I thank you and want you to know that I appreciate you and the school. Truly congratulations for you years and success.

Congratulations on five wonderful years Kelly! I’ll always be grateful for accidentally stumbling upon your YouTube videos a few years ago. From that point I purchased my first RH loom and took out, and continue with, top membership at your weaving school. I’ve always been into ‘doing something with my hands’, but discovering weaving is the thing that has given me the most joy. Belonging to your weaving school has not only taught, and continues to teach, me so much about how to weave and expand my skills, it has given me the far greater gift of friendship of like-minded folk. For the most part, I’ve been on a solitary journey with all of my ‘crafty’ endeavours….until weaving came into my life. Though only meeting virtually, I really feel that I finally belong in a group….. this wonderful group of so many lovely, talented and caring people. Meeting so many amazing friends online through the school, also gave me the confidence to attend and join the local Handspinners & Weavers Guild…something the ‘before school’ me would have never felt confident enough to do. I have a lot to thank you and your school for Kelly. Kelly congratulations on your 5th birthday of your weaving school! I’m in my second year of having a yearly membership and prior to that I purchased a few of your classes and learned so much. I stumbled onto several of your free videos in 2018 and saved them in my YouTube account as Kelly Casanova so I could refer back to them when needed. I love your manner of teaching and I’m so glad you forged ahead and have plans to keep going. I wish I had more time to weave. I work full time at a sewing machine dealership in Fort Worth Texas selling sewing, embroidery, quilting machines and sergers. I too teach hands-on classes there and once a month at a local quilt shop. I look at weaving, knitting and crochet as my outlet that I can have as my own pleasure. Every time I visit my mom, she has me sitting down at her floor loom to weave. I took a liking to it, that I asked my husband for a rigid heddle loom for Christmas. It’s been three years and I have enjoyed learning and trying new fabrics or yarns to weave with. This journey took me to Kelly’s weaving school, I have enjoyed the classes that gives you opportunities to weave with more heddles, pick up sticks and how to make a heddle rod. My next goal is to purchase a table or floor loom. I know where I will turn to in order to warp my loom. I started weaving a few years before I found your online weaving school. What a difference this has made to me! You have enabled me to make so much more progress and grow in confidence in my weaving. To the extent that I feel I could start selling some items in order to fund purchase of more yarn. I enjoy weaving so much more with your relaxed style of teaching and I am able to weave at my own pace around working. I hope to retire this year, move nearer to our grandchilden, and create a weaving studio to spend my time weaving when not looking after our lovely grandchildren. Now I can find an answer to almost any weaving question I have by going to Kelly’s online weaving school. And the new class ideas sound wonderful!
I have really enjoyed learning how far one can go with a rigid heddle loom. I gave up my floor loom recently because of back issues and am loving being able to weave multi-shaft weaves again by using my rigid heddles. Thanks for the very well-taught classes.

Congratulations on five years!! I love EVERYTHING you teach. I’ve only been weaving about a year, but I’ve come a long way thanks to you. I’m strictly rigid heddle and probably always will be, so I appreciate all those classes. I do, however, watch your other videos on skills that are beyond my comprehension. I always wanted to learn to weave and finally began the journey during COVID. I reviewed many weaving tutorials and found Kelly as the teacher for me. Weaving can produce some of the dames effects as meditation and as a social worker, in a hospital, primarily with very sick and dying patients during the pandemic, , I needed a meditative outlet.

I joined a little over a year ago to take the dish towel course. I love weaving but have mainly only done some Rigid Heddle. I purchased a floor loom off Craigslist but had no idea how to use it. When I saw all the wonderful classes offered at the Weaving School, I knew it would be money well spent. I love your enthusiasm for weaving. It makes me want to learn. Congratulations on 5 years!
I joined your weaving just over a year ago and as many other people have commented, I love how clear and concise your instructions are. I have been slowly working my way through your library of instruction, but I particularly love your “wash your hands towels”. I have made these as towels but also downsized them to make lovely face washers. Congrats on your five anniversary!
I’ve loved the patterns you’ve offered and the videos detailing all the tips and tricks you’ve developed, you’re often my first stop when I have a question about weaving. I loved how detailed the classes are, with exactly what I needed to learn all the new techniques.
As an aside, have you seen Portuguese style knitting? It’s often recommended as a style that can help avoid the movements that can cause pain with the more popular techniques.
I’ve seen a few different knitting styles that are meant to be easier on your hands, I just don’t feel like I have time to learn new techniques at this point when weaving takes so much of my time. I would love to do further research and try some different methods in the future though 😊

Happy Birthday! My weaving school membership has been a great investment. There’s such a wide variety of classes to choose from; no matter where my weaving interests seem take me, there’s a class on that topic. I’ve learned so much!
I started weaving about five years ago when a friend asked me to attend a class with her – I’m still weaving – she’s not. I am now unable to sit and weave because of a nerve injury, so for a couple years i didn’t weave hardly at all, but because I do enjoy it so much I finally “jerry-rigged” a couple things to be able to warp and weave in a standing position. I enrolled in your weaving school and the weaving hasn’t stopped since then. I haven’t done all your classes, but the few I have done so far has given me a greater confidence to step out from just plain weave. My favorite so far is the Diamond Stripe Towels, but the log cabin I’m working on now may become the new favorite. Thank you for all you do to teach and inspire me to bigger and greater things.

Happy anniversary! I bought myself a rigid heddle loom as a retirement present to myself two years ago. I joined the Weaving School and Kelly has served as my teacher, my mentor and my inspiration for my weaving journey from day one. She has gently and professionally guided my work. Happy birthday to the weaving school! I decided to start weaving after realizing just how slowly I knit and that I have more yarn than I could ever hope to use. My hands can’t take knitting for long stretches, either. Several members of a Facebook knitting group I am in began knitting, so I thought that would be a good way to use up yarn and create beautiful things. I bought a 15″ Cricket RHL in February 2020, then a 32″ Kromski Harp Forte in May 2021. I’m the type of person who needs to completely understand a process before I begin. I joined a Facebook rigid heddle weaving group and found your videos. After watching enough, I finally started weaving in January 2022! To be able to make a scarf in 2 days was amazing – to knit one takes me months! I thought I would use up my stash, but ai seem to be buying more yarn. My husband passed away last February, and this new hobby has brought me joy and has kept me occupied outside of work. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and talent, or I would still have empty looms!

Happy Anniversary! Weaving has always fascinated me and I took every opportunity I found to play with a loom. But I never owned one until about 3 years ago. All of a sudden I was faced with warping a loom. It was your videos that I found the most useful. I have learned so much from your videos and posts, and classes I have taken from you. I look forward to continuing as I have the time. There is so much more to know and experiment with! I admit to being jealous of most people who can work with all the gorgeous wools that are available. So many of the people around me are allergic to wool that I can seldom use it in projects. I am from Oudshoorn, South Africa. It feels like i’m alone in this area weaving or shall I say triyng to weave. I did subscribed a few times to learn and get confidence in my weaving. I must say that the speed, the explaining, the way you teach did help me a lot. But I need help every so often to stay positive. I am SO glad you mention a skirt and double-width weave on a multishaft loom! I was going to suggest that to you! My table loom is a 60cm and that would allow a confortably wide fabric for sewing. Gratefully looking forward!

Hello Kelly, I guess I’ve been weaving for about 6 years now, fulfilling a dream I have always had. As a child I would weave paper, plait hair, weave ribbon, grass, anything!
When I started “real” weaving I also learnt to spin, and oh the joy of making my own yarn and then weaving it. My “loom family” has grown to 2 rigid heddles and 2 table looms , and a home made inkle loom.
My favourite yarn to weave with is cotton and Thread Collective has always provided great service.

Weaving came into my life at a time when my world was getting ever smaller.. Somehow just the act of doing it was the most calming thing to do with the rhythm of the shuttle going back and forth, and seeing the ever growing cloth made me feel connected to those weavers of centuries past as I realised what an ancient craft this is. It’s been such a blessing to me over the past few years, and so have your lessons Kelly. I first found you on you tube at the beginning of my weaving journey and I have learned so much with you, thank you. Because of my disability my brain doesn’t always ‘compute’ instructions very easily these days, but with your lessons you spell everything out in several ways so that even I can get what I am supposed to be doing, and it’s great that we can also always ask you questions if we need to. I love the Facebook group too, such a lovely community, and I love seeing everyone’s work as we continue learning together. Hi Kelly. I started with your weaving school some time ago to learn the basics, as I had an Ashford 24” rigid heddle loom which I had for years but realized there was much to learn about weaving. After learning the excellent basics from your school and i stopped. Then I rejoined recently as I wanted to go further with more than just the basics. I love to weave and your courses have taught me to get the most out of my loom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I started weaving last year and your beginner lessons and many YouTube videos were so helpful. I’ve even started selling a few items to buy a better loom but haven’t decided which one yet. Unfortunately my first one was an uneducated purchase and although it has a rigid heddle it doesn’t have apron bars and only has up and neutral positions for the heddle so this made learning interesting. But I’m very pleased with my progress and love every moment of weaving even the difficult warping bits🤪
Found you on YouTube and purchased one of your classes. Am a self taught weaver and am willing to learn from anyone. So glad I found you though.
Your weaving school has reminded me that I NEED to retire, as the new looms (yes plural) won’t weave themselves! Between this school and Nicky at the thread collective, you have opened up a whole new fibre art branch for me, and now I have a large stash of weaving threads too, in addition to all the other yarns. Thankyou so much! I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my floor loom, and have managed to make some teatowels on a rather ancient table loom and a rigid heddle loom. I’m a spinner, a knitter, a crocheter, a sewist, an embroiderer, and an artist.
I’m gradually losing the use of the last 3 fingers on each hand so I was facing a non-crafting rest of my life, on top of unemployability and limited income.
Then I watched one of your YouTube videos and wondered if weaving is something I can do with only index fingers and thumbs, and on a limited budget.
I watched most of your videos. Your uncomplicated style of teaching, along with your humour, convinced me to beg family for a loom and give weaving a go. Yes! It can be done easily with limited dexterity, and on a budget.
My first project included every beginner mistake so I completed one of your classes, made brilliant placemats, and now I want to weave and weave some more. I want to do all your classes and weave all the things.
Your videos give me hope that i can learn weaving. Thank you for being so clear and upbeat in your instruction method.
After retiring my doctor insisted I find something to keep me busy. My new life was not working out. I remembered my parents dragging me to all the old museums in New England and every time I saw a weaving loom something felt different. So I spent almost 6 months reading up on weaving and looms, finding bits and pieces here and there, discovered youtube and there you were with all the answers I had been looking for. The more I watched the more that feeling came back. You were just starting up your classes and we learned together. Look at us now! I’ve watched your video’s multiple times. I purchased a Kromski 24″ RH. Made a scarf, then 2, then 3, then dozens and donated them to Catie’s Closet for kids K-12 in Massachusetts schools. As you progressed I did too, a Louet Jane 27″ entered my life as well as a Schlact Inkle. I can’t stop. It’s impossible. I never would have guessed the journey would have taken me this far. Each warp leads to these incredible pieces that I made, me, I made them. It doesn’t matter whether it turns out perfect because I’m still on a journey with you leading the way – for so many people around the world.

Congratulations Kelly! I have been weaving on a rigid heddle for a few years but I’m entirely self taught from books and trial and error. When I found your videos on youtube I was amazed at how much I didn’t know. I signed up for your school with a gold membership. I love your teaching style by the way. 🙂 I have been pretty set on getting a table loom so I can learn that ( I love your Ashford!) but then realized that I should invest in a double heddle block and heddles instead and see where I can go with that. I can’t wait to see what I can do!

Kelly’s Online Weaving school is the reason I can now weave confidently on my new 24 inch RH loom! I started just 5 months ago with a small 15 inch single heddle doing plain weave. In my search online for more possibilities, I discovered Kelly’s blog, courses, and YouTube videos. Now I am making 3 and 4 shaft towels thanks to her instruction! Next up is scarves and playing with different fabrics, and this HAS changed my life. I have a healthy obsession with yarns, fabrics, textiles and all the possibilities of creating for myself and for others. It’s fun, challenging, calming, and therapeutic.

What a fun story of your journey!
I started weaving during the pandemic, but as I have mentioned, I have had a rigid heddle loom for over 40 years and just started using it, as 40years ago there was no Youtube! After learning from you, I was hooked, and THAT led to wanting a larger loom, which I got shortly after I started your courses. Now I am waiting delivery of my 43.5″ David III floor loom. Weaving has taken over my life, and I love it. I’m so glad I held on to my little Schacht 20″ RHL. You are a fantastic teacher, and a very generous person with your time in answering questions and helping us!

Kelly another year down! Congrats! It has been wonderful to watch your class’s as you have a very concise, focused style. You cover everything that needs to be included in each lesson. You have impacted my weaving life by opening up the rigid heddle to do more than just basic plain weave. I do not have room for anything larger in my home so to learn some of the more advanced things like double heddle work and pick up and of course to try my hand at double weaving. You are needed and appreciated! Keep up the good work.
Congratulations on 5 years! My husband let me purchase a one year membership last May as a Mother’s Day gift. He knew I was excited to try out my new rigid heddle loom. Watching Kelly’s videos is a pleasure. They give me hope and confidence that I can successfully complete many of the projects offered. Unfortunately I have found that I don’t have or take time for myself to weave. My husband has been a quadriplegic for 40 years. For the 35 years we have been married I have cared for him and that takes time. My sweet love who encouraged me and took great pleasure in the few things that I have made on my loom, went on to be with Jesus this past week. He’s no longer paralyzed and I know he will be watching down on me cheering me on to now spend time on myself doing something that gives me pleasure. I’m letting my membership renew for another year and hope to get busy warping my loom and making beautiful things with Kelly’s help.
Oh Tami, I didn’t know that your husband had passed away, I’m so sorry to hear that. What a blessing you have been to him. I’ll be praying for you in this time of grief 🙏

I’m so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels right now. I lost me husband unexpectedly in January and he was my most wonderful admirer of my work providing so much encouragement and feedback in my endeavors. I feel like I’m just now coming out of a daze. I’ll send some positive energy your way. I’m so sorry.
Dear Tami, a lot of respect for you having taken care of your husband. I have seen so many families in the same situation the last 13 months during my husbands revalidatie after 7 weeks of coma. Tonight my candle light will be for you ! 🌷

I started weaving about three and a half years ago and had no clue what I was doing. Then I found Kelly’s classes and just about inhaled almost everything Kelly was teaching. She has such a natural and calm approach to teaching. It is easy to understand and follow her instructions without any problems. I have an Inkle loom and two rigid heddle looms and I have not even begun to use them to their fullest potential (mostly because health issues interfere with it at times). However, I am still excited to start new projects and learn new techniques. The bottom line is that without Kelly’s classes I would never have come this far. My new project is to just weave fabric so I can make my clothing. I am so excited!!!
I had reached the extent of what I could do with my rigid heddle looms until I took your classes. I’m getting ready to start your herringbone class in between keeping my newest grandson. It’s amazing who you can reach all over the world.
Congratulations Kelly- what an amazing achievement, which benefits so many people all over the world. It has taken me many years to accept retirement (I first left the teaching profession in 2008) but I always felt that days at leisure were pointless and unrewarding. THEN I discovered Kelly, online during a random search and my spare time became productive, joyful and has given me a new lease on life. Thank you Kelly for continuing to feed my new passion- so much to learn and so little time.
Wendy, I had no idea you were a retired educator. I am too. I retired in 2017 and took up weaving at the same time. I taught for 30 years LA and SS at the middle and high school level. That must be why we relate. Lol love you. Jess
Kelly’s online weaving school has been a Godsend for me. Not only have I learnt heaps but it has filled the void in my social engagement with others. Locked away like many during the pandemic Not being able to get to craft classes and support groups I’ve found a solace in learning and weaving and thoroughly enjoyed the virtual connection with Kelly and fellow learners who have likewise been motivated to push boundaries and try new things. Kelly is an inspiration but more than that the passion she has is infectious.

My husband bought me a 32in Kromski rigid heddle and stand. I made one thing and put it up for several years. Indirect warping was not my thing your videos led me to your school which showed me direct warping!
You opened a whole new world to me. The funny thing is I have a warping mill now for my floor and table loom.
The online weaving school has given me the confidence to weave new things. I struggled to start weaving. My looms went untouched because, “I wasn’t good at it.” I no longer feel that way and know there are resources to help whenever needed.
I have always been attracted to handwoven items and purchased items when I could. I didn’t think I had the time or talents to become a weaver and since I live in a rural area, I didn’t have access to a teacher. Then the pandemic happened and suddenly I had the time. Providence provided you, my teacher, and I am pleased to say that with your support, I am loving weaving my own items and finding that I can develop the talent.

I started weaving in late 2018 with the aid of a local weaving club. I never even considered online instruction because I had hands-on help. Then, COVID! Everything shut down 2 weeks after I purchased my rigid heddle. I had learned on a floor loom so I was floundering. Enter..Kelly Casanova. Your videos saved my life! Not just your weaving videos, but the adorable films of your beautiful daughter playing piano. It was a warm respite from the trauma the whole world was going through. I found your channel one day searching “cotton” and “weaving” and I’ve never been the same! Little did I know that kitchen tea towels could be elevated to an art form, that there more cotton/yarns varieties than I could ever begin to learn, and that this would become not just a hobby but a passion. Your online weaving classes are superb! As a beginner weaver I began weaving with two heddles immediately and making my own patterns! Now I just need some GOOD yarns to weave with!
Weaving has enabled me to share my husband’s hobby and has brought us a common interest and strengthened our marriage. We now speak the same language and I understand when he refers to sheds, warps, overshot as we share our weaving woes and joys. Yay!
Having knitted for over 50 years, it was time to learn something new! I consider myself a lifelong learner, having earned my Ed.D. at the age of 50. And yet, I felt there was little left for me to learn in my hobby of knitting. So, towards the beginning of the pandemic I sought out someone who could teach me to weave. Traveling an hour to the nearest weaving teacher gave me the basics. I left with a loom, yarn, shuttles, etc. and then turned to the internet to teach me the rest. Thankfully, I found Kelly’s weaving school and the rest is history. I’ve been weaving for almost two years and I am thoroughly addicted. Thank you, Kelly!!

I haven’t purchased a class yet, but i have every intention on signing up for a class later this year after a few personal things settle down! I also get Kelly’s emails and have watched almost every single YouTube channel! I can’t wait to get back to weaving and learning more!

I was intimidated to start weaving but I emailed Kelli about her classes, and she was quite reassuring about weaving. and flexible about her classes.
